An Oxford School is one of the first schools in Oxford to have a wind turbine, they hope to save up to £1,200 per year on their energy bill.
It is estimated that the school's wind turbine will generate around 12,000 kw's of energy this year. The initative has bee supported partly by the South Oxford District Council and also with the help of a goverenment grant. In a time when school budgets are under increasing pressure, and energy prices are soaring, wind can assist in managing this challenges. AWE are currently working on several projects that involve placing 15kw and 6kw turbines being placed in school yards for the purpose of generating energy.
